Introducing… Museum Picnic Club

12 Jun

Fridays in term-time, 3.30pm – 5.00pm

It’s not technically a club, you don’t need a picnic, and it takes place in the Heritage Centre…

Museum Picnic Club is a new weekly event at the Heritage Centre for families who want to enjoy the Heritage Centre together – for FREE. You can browse the displays and exhibits, including our brand new replica cockpit, or have a go at some of our activities like the colouring-in, dressing-up or making a paper aeroplane.

Let your kids be kids – picnics optional!

If you and your little-ones want to just come and relax together, you can bring a picnic into our Coffee Shop and just spend time together in the Heritage Centre at the end of a hard day at school.

Parents need not worry about younger children who are exploring the world in their own way – as this is a family event, children who make a noise or make a mess will be more than welcome to be themselves and enjoy the museum in their own way!

Free Family-Friendly Fun

Museum Picnic Club will run every Friday for the rest of the Summer term, from 3.30pm until 5.00pm, and is completely free for families.

The Coffee Shop will be available for anybody wanting hot or cold drinks, cakes or snacks and staff will be on hand to introduce the museum exhibits and activities. The Heritage Centre also offers free Wi-Fi, and there is ample Free Parking in the grounds too!

So whether you are a regular Heritage Centre visitor, or are looking for something different to do with your children on a Friday afternoon, we’d love to welcome you!
