Modelmakers in Pembrokeshire are turning the heat up as they embark on a special mission in support of the Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust.
Members of the Pembroke-based Penfro Model Group are working on a big project which they plan to complete in time for the Battleof the Atlantic 70th Anniversary Weekend to be staged in Pembroke Dock on May 10th – 12th.
But the strange weather conditions this spring are hampering their efforts as they cannot get paint to dry on their special project.
The Penfro Modellers are in need of halogen heaters to help the project along and have appealed for the loan of heaters.
Martin Blow, of the Model Group, said: “We only require two or three heaters for a few weeks and will be pleased to hear from anyone who can help.”
Further details of the ‘special project’ will be revealed in good time for the anniversary weekend which is attracting a lot of interest both locally and nationally. It will mark a key period in the six year Atlantic Campaign of World War II. Flying boats from Pembroke Dock and naval vessels using the Haven made important contributions to achieving victory in the Campaign.
