Six Weeks of Summer

12 Jul

The summer holidays for us begin around 22 July, and to coincide we will have a six-week programme of events and activities to cater for all our visitors for the six weeks of summer which follow. Activities include family-friendly crafts, heritage walks and the chance to have your family history questions answered…

In addition, our permanent displays and exhibits feature a range of personal stories, original objects, memorabilia, photographs, paintings and models.  There is also the opportunity to see our newly created replica Flying Boat cockpit, built by our volunteers and faithfully recreating a Sunderland Mk I flight deck.

Visitors can also enjoy great coffee, cakes and ice-creams in our volunteer-run Coffee Shop, pick up a souvenir or gift in the Gift Shop, and make use of our Free Wi-fi and Free Parking.  For full details of all our facilities, click here.

Also, maritime and naval history enthusiasts will also be welcome to join us on Friday for our special research days, where teams of our volunteer researchers will be on hand to help out with focussed research enquiries on a variety of subjects and topics.  Our Research Enquiries Desk will take place each Friday between 11.00am and 2.00pm, and the price is included in the admission.

The Heritage Centre is housed in the former Royal Dockyard Chapel
