The summer holidays have begun! And whether you live locally or are visiting the area, a visit to the Heritage Centre is the perfect way to keep the whole family amused for a couple of hours, whatever the weather! In addition to our regular displays and activities, including family-friendly crafts and trails, we have a Special Exhibition celebrating 100 years of the RAF and a series of heritage walks, suitable for anyone to enjoy…
In addition, our permanent displays and exhibits feature a range of personal stories, original objects, memorabilia, photographs, paintings and models. There is also the opportunity to see our replica Flying Boat cockpit, built by our volunteers and faithfully recreating a Sunderland Mk I flight deck.
Visitors can also enjoy great coffee, cakes and ice-creams in our volunteer-run Coffee Shop, pick up a souvenir or gift in the Gift Shop, and make use of our Free Wi-fi and Free Parking. For full details of all our facilities, click here.
Everyday of the holidays we will have a range of activities for families and children, including:
- Lego engineers design table
- Paper aeroplane crafts
- Flying boat colouring-in and activity sheets
- Museum trails
- Infants activity corner
Also, families are welcome to join our weekly Heritage Walks, exploring Wales’ only Royal Dockyard and learning more about the town that built over 260 vessels for the Royal Navy, and five Royal Yachts.
