Support us

If every website visitor donated £1.00, we could raise almost double the amount raised by all our fundraising in 2018, and we would safeguard our Heritage for another year.

Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust operates Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre, and is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1120476. We do not receieve any regular external funding and rely on donations to continue to operate.

Please support our work by considering a small donation through our Local Giving page.

Facilities

Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre is an all-weather attraction based in the former Royal Dockyard Chapel. In the rain or sunshine, visitors can expect a warm welcome from our enthusiastic volunteers, and beautiful grounds where visitors can picnic or exercise their dog.

There is ample parking in the grounds, including accessible spaces and plenty of room for coaches or buses. Parking for Heritage Centre visitors is free.

Our Gift Shop sells a range of themed souvenirs and gifts. There is free WiFi throughout building.

The site is fully wheelchair accessible and assistance dogs are welcome.

Coffee Shop

The Heritage Centre includes a Coffee Shop, selling a range of hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks.

We are proud of our local produce, and try wherever possible to support local Pembrokeshire or Welsh brands, including coffee beans roasted by Capital Roasters in Pembroke Dock, selections of teas from Welsh Brew Tea and cold drinks from Heartsease Farm. In addition to our traditional Welsh Cakes and Bara Brith, all our other cakes are supplied by Welsh bakers and even the crisps we stock are made in Wales, from Welsh potatoes.

Displays

Our displays feature selected objects, paintings and photographs from our historic collections along with models and dioramas supported by stories and information about the fascinating history of the town. We have a number of audio-visual displays featuring video clips and interactive exhibits, such as our unique replica Sunderland cockpit and simulated flight around the Haven.

We regularly change and improve our exhibits and have an ongoing programme of temporary exhibitions.

Families

Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust has signed the Kids in Museums manifesto, and fully supports families wishing to visit.

We offer a range of activities including free activity sheets, trails, a rummage box, dressing up items as well as interactive exhibits and a regular programme of activities aimed at families with children. We are aiming to continually improve our selection of activities, events and the nature of our displays, in order to appeal to wider age ranges of children and their families. We therefore welcome any feedback or suggestions from family groups who visit.

For families with younger children, there are baby changing facilities available in the unisex accessible toilet on the ground floor, with ample room for a pram or pushchair, and breast-feeding is welcome. The site, including all the displays, is fully accessible to prams and pushchairs.

The Heritage Centre recently has regularly gained the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence over recent years.
